Founded in 2022, but began more than a decade prior

Bonded by our past, foarging our paths together

The start

Many years ago, once we all had separated from the military, we had an idea. An idea to get the unit back together for one last mission. A week-long expedition through Moab on one Land Rover. What started as three vets, soon became an annual tradition; inviting more people from the unit.

Our first trip to Moab was a success. It was in August, which is hot, and not many other people are crazy enough to endure the ripping heat.

It was technical, it was hard, there was digging, and fording. We had to rely on each other to get the vehicle through. There was no support coming to recover us. But we pushed onwards. We were hooked

Now…

Through the years, our convoy has grown. Adding more veterans and their experience to these trips. We bond over the hardships of the trails and our shared experiences.

A hard day on the trail was followed by a good night’s camp under the stars. We share good food, good stories, and better company.

There’s something about being around other veterans, and enduring the difficulties of the trail that help “reset” us and make the “regular world”, with its daily responsibilities, seem manageable. It’s our way of taming the beast.
